Please Note: While the time frames indicated at the link above apply in the majority of
cases, for a variety of reasons some applications may take longer to process
than others. Further, the processing times indicated at the link above do NOT include transit time from VFS to the visa office and back which require one additional day on either end. Should you have any queries relating to the location of your

Processing Delays at the 'Consulate General of Canada, Chandigarh
Due to unprecedented application volumes, there will be delays in the processing of Temporary Resident Visa (visitor visa) applications at the visa office in Chandigarh. Standard processing time will be 10 working days. Applicants are strongly recommended to submit their applications at least 2 weeks before planned travel. This situation is temporary, and Citizenship and Immigration Canada has resource plans in place to return to normal processing times soon.
